"The Castle Monségur of the Cathars", a ship of souls, is a handcrafted ceramic sculpture inspired by the history of teh Cathars in the south of France. In the year 1209 started the "Croisade Albigeoise", the crusade against the Cathars. In the spring of 1209 an army of Christian crusaders descended the valley of the Rhône river, from there they marched to Occitania in the souht of France. The purpose of this crusade was to rid Occitania of the Cathars. All of Occitania was outlawed, so people coiuld plunder, murder and rape there to their heart"s content without fear of earthely or hellish retrution.
